Jacksonville, FL – Residents in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia should brace for freezing temperatures and dangerously low wind chills through Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Jacksonville, a Freeze Warning and Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday. Temperatures are expected to plummet as low as 19°F, with wind chills dropping to 15°F in some areas.

The affected areas include cities such as Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Fernandina Beach in Florida, along with Waycross, Brunswick, and St. Simons Island in Georgia. NWS warns of hypothermia and frostbite risks for those exposed to the cold without adequate protection.
