Dallas–Fort Worth, TX – After a quiet start to the day, scattered showers and storms will redevelop late this afternoon and expand across North and Central Texas tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Forecasters warn of a flooding risk, particularly in areas north of I-20 that received heavy rain earlier this week. Widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected across North Texas, with locally higher amounts up to 4 inches possible. Central Texas can expect lighter totals of ¼ to 1½ inches.

A few strong to marginally severe storms are possible west of I-35, with isolated hail and gusty winds through the evening. The heaviest rainfall is forecast from late Sunday evening into early Monday morning, potentially leading to localized flash flooding.

Conditions will improve Monday afternoon, giving way to cooler and drier weather that will continue through Thanksgiving Day. Highs are expected to reach the low 60s Thursday with sunshine across the region.

Motorists are urged to avoid flooded roads and monitor updated forecasts through Monday morning.
