FORT WORTH, Texas – The air feels more like late summer than mid-October as South winds sweep through the Metroplex this Monday morning, carrying the scent of dust and warm asphalt. Temperatures will surge again into the lower 90s under mostly sunny skies, marking one of the warmest starts to the week in recent memory before a noticeable cooldown sets in midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, gusty southwest winds will strengthen through the morning, reaching 25 to 35 mph at times. Drivers on I-35W and I-20 should brace for crosswinds, especially in open stretches. Monday’s highs near 91°F will make outdoor conditions uncomfortably warm for late October. Hydration and sunscreen remain key for outdoor workers and early-week sports practices.

A shift in the weather pattern arrives late Tuesday as a weak cold front slides through North Texas. While skies stay mostly sunny, winds will turn north, and highs will ease back into the low 80s by Wednesday. Nights will also grow cooler, dipping into the 50s for the first time in several days.

By Thursday evening, moisture will return from the Gulf, bringing a 30–50% chance of showers late in the day and through Friday. The weekend looks seasonably pleasant, with highs near 80°F and a mix of sun and clouds — a more typical feel for late October after the early-week heat spike.
