Fort Worth, TX – North Texans should prepare for wet conditions Wednesday as an upper-level disturbance brings widespread showers and cooler temperatures. Rain is expected to begin early in the morning, impacting the morning commute, especially east of I-35.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, rain chances will increase significantly by late morning, with isolated thunderstorms possible through the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to remain in the 50s, making for a damp and cool day. While thunderstorms are unlikely to be severe, they could bring localized heavier rainfall and brief gusty winds.

Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time during morning and midday hours as wet roadways could cause slower traffic and potential delays. Pedestrians and outdoor workers should prepare for chilly conditions with lows in the 40s overnight and highs staying in the mid-50s.

After the rain moves out Wednesday evening, Thursday offers a brief reprieve with partly sunny skies and a high near 56. However, additional rain chances return Friday into Saturday, with a 40% chance of showers Friday night and a cooler high of 49 on Friday.

Weekend plans may also be affected as rain lingers into Saturday morning, clearing up by midday. Expect highs in the mid-50s with calm winds. Sunday looks drier and slightly warmer, with a 20% chance of showers and highs near 56.

Plan ahead for wet weather gear, especially for early Wednesday and late Friday into Saturday. Stay updated with the latest forecasts to adjust travel or outdoor plans as needed.
