Fort Worth, TX – A powerful Arctic blast will slam into North Texas this week, bringing frigid temperatures, strong winds, and the potential for freezing rain. Residents should prepare for a drastic temperature drop, with lows plunging to 15°F by Tuesday night.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be mostly sunny with a high of 57°F, but the cold front will arrive Tuesday, sending temperatures plummeting throughout the day. By Tuesday night, wind chills will make it feel even colder, with gusts up to 30 mph. A slight chance of freezing rain could create slick roads, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Wednesday will be the coldest day of the week, with a high of just 13°F and overnight temperatures in the single digits. The deep freeze will continue through midweek before a slight warm-up on Thursday, with highs reaching the mid-30s.

Residents should take precautions now by protecting exposed pipes, dressing in layers, and limiting time outdoors. Those traveling should monitor road conditions closely, as ice could make driving hazardous. Stay tuned for updates as this Arctic front moves in.
