Fort Worth, Texas – Multiple rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms will impact North and Central Texas from Friday afternoon through Sunday night, bringing the risk of heavy rain, isolated flooding, and outdoor disruptions across the Easter weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the most widespread rainfall is expected Saturday and Sunday, with totals reaching 2 to 3 inches in northern counties like Bowie, Sherman, and Paris. Central and southern regions, including Waco, Killeen, and Palestine, could see 0.5 to 1.5 inches through Sunday evening.
Strong storms may develop late Friday night into Saturday across the DFW Metroplex and areas east toward Canton. Some of these storms could become severe, producing damaging winds and hail. A cold front arriving Sunday may trigger another round of storms before conditions dry out Sunday night.
Drivers are urged to avoid low-water crossings and use extra caution in construction zones prone to poor drainage. Outdoor Easter events may face delays or cancellations due to lightning and downpours.
More rain and thunderstorm chances could continue into early next week. Weather warnings and updates remain possible as the system evolves.
