Fort Worth, Texas – A weak cold front moving through North Texas Friday afternoon and evening will bring a brief cool-down overnight, affecting temperatures through Saturday night.

According to the National Weather Service Fort Worth, the front is expected to pass through the region late Friday, allowing slightly cooler air to settle in overnight. Forecast graphics show evening and overnight lows dropping into the upper 30s to low 40s across much of the area, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Sherman, Graham, and Cisco.

Daytime temperatures Saturday are expected to remain mild, generally ranging from the low to upper 60s across North Texas. Cities such as Dallas-Fort Worth, Waco, and Palestine are forecast to see highs near the mid-to-upper 60s, while areas farther north may stay closer to the low 60s.

Despite the overnight cool-down, the National Weather Service notes that temperatures throughout the weekend are expected to remain above normal for early January. By Saturday night, lows are forecast to settle again into the upper 30s to low 40s before gradual warming resumes.

No precipitation or hazardous weather impacts were indicated with the front. The system is expected to move through quickly, limiting its effect to cooler nighttime conditions rather than prolonged cold weather.

The timing may be relevant for early-morning commuters and students Saturday, as cooler temperatures will be most noticeable during overnight and early morning hours.
