Fort Worth, TX – A cold front is expected to move into North and Central Texas Tuesday evening, bringing scattered showers and the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. The system will push southeast overnight and into Wednesday morning.
Forecasters say the main hazards include hail, strong gusty winds, and periods of heavy rainfall. Timing for storms will vary by location: areas around Graham and DFW may see activity between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday, while Waco and Killeen could see stronger storms after midnight.
By Wednesday, cooler air will settle in with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s across much of North Texas. The Dallas-Fort Worth area is forecast to reach 80 degrees, while Waco may see 82 and Palestine 85. While most storms will taper off, a few isolated storms are still possible in Central Texas Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service warns residents to avoid flooded roadways, stay indoors during lightning, and be prepared to take shelter if warnings are issued.
