North Texas Heat Advisory: Dangerous 108° Heat Index Until Saturday Night

Fort Worth, Texas – North and Central Texas will face another day of dangerous heat Saturday, with a heat advisory in effect until 8 p.m. as heat index values climb as high as 108 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, temperatures will reach the upper 90s, but high humidity will make conditions feel even hotter. Cities including Fort Worth, Dallas, Arlington, Denton, Waco, Corsicana, and Greenville are all under the advisory. Outdoor workers, athletes, and anyone spending extended time outside are at heightened risk for heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Officials urge residents to drink water frequently, avoid direct sun, and take breaks in air-conditioned or shaded spaces. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest periods during peak afternoon heat. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles, where conditions can turn deadly in minutes.

Saturday’s high in Fort Worth is expected to reach 97 degrees, with heat index values up to 105. Similar conditions will stretch across Dallas, Collin, and Tarrant counties. Relief may come late Sunday night as storm chances slowly return to the forecast by early next week.

Heat advisories remain in effect through Saturday evening, and additional alerts could be issued if dangerous conditions persist into next week.
