Fort Worth, TX – A Freeze Watch remains in effect for several counties in western North Central Texas, with sub-freezing temperatures expected from late Sunday night through Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures as low as 29°F are possible in areas including Montague, Cooke, Young, Jack, Wise, and surrounding counties. The freeze could impact cities such as Decatur, Mineral Wells, Nocona, Weatherford, and Stephenville, among others.

The cold snap poses a threat to sensitive vegetation, with frost and freeze conditions potentially damaging crops and unprotected plants. Outdoor plumbing is also at risk if not properly protected.

Residents are advised to take precautionary steps to safeguard their plants and plumbing by covering or bringing them indoors. Local farmers and gardeners are urged to prepare for potential crop damage as the region braces for this late-season freeze.
