According to the National Weather Service, temperatures as low as 29°F are possible in areas including Montague, Cooke, Young, Jack, Wise, and surrounding counties. The freeze could impact cities such as Decatur, Mineral Wells, Nocona, Weatherford, and Stephenville, among others.
The cold snap poses a threat to sensitive vegetation, with frost and freeze conditions potentially damaging crops and unprotected plants. Outdoor plumbing is also at risk if not properly protected.
