Fort Worth, Texas – Severe storms and flash flooding are expected to impact North Texas through Wednesday night, with heavy rain, large hail, and isolated tornadoes possible across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will develop from Monday evening through Wednesday. Rainfall totals are forecast between 1 to 3 inches across much of the area, with localized amounts of up to 5 inches possible near the Red River, including cities like Paris and Sherman.
Bowie, Sherman, and Paris are likely to see the heaviest rainfall and strongest storms beginning Tuesday night, continuing into Wednesday. The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex could experience damaging winds and flash flooding, especially during the peak threat window on Wednesday afternoon. Waco, Stephenville, and Killeen are expected to see lighter rainfall amounts, generally under 2 inches, but localized flooding remains a risk.
Drivers are urged to avoid traveling through flooded roadways—“Turn Around, Don’t Drown.” Residents should also charge devices, secure outdoor items, and review tornado safety plans, particularly for those living in mobile homes or flood-prone areas.
The severe threat could extend into Wednesday night, and additional advisories may be issued. Stay tuned for updates as the forecast evolves over the next 48 hours.
