Bonham, Texas – Roads in western Fannin County could be impassable overnight as intense thunderstorms continue to dump torrential rain across the area. Between 3 and 8 inches have already fallen in the Ravenna and Ector communities, creating dangerous flash flooding conditions that will persist until at least 2 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, radar shows the heaviest downpours concentrated near Bonham, Lake Bonham, and Bonham State Park. Low-lying areas, small creeks, and urban streets are most at risk, with water quickly covering roadways. Drivers are urged to avoid travel, as flooded roads can be deeper and more dangerous than they appear — especially at night.
Officials warn residents in Randolph, Ivanhoe, Sowells Bluff, and Gober to prepare for rapid water rises. Anyone living near creeks or drainage ditches should move to higher ground immediately.
The warning remains in effect through early morning, and more flood advisories could follow if storms persist.
