The National Weather Service warns of damaging winds up to 70 mph, large hail, and a potential tornado threat across the region. Residents are urged to stay weather-aware and have a plan in place if conditions worsen.
According to the US National Weather Service in Fort Worth, storms moving in from western North Texas could produce large hail and high wind speeds capable of causing property damage. This weather system poses a significant risk and could escalate quickly.
A separate severe thunderstorm watch is also active for West Central Texas, including Brown, Callahan, and Taylor counties, until 5 p.m. The National Weather Service in Abilene cautions that hail up to two inches in diameter is likely, along with wind gusts reaching 70 mph. Isolated tornadoes are possible in these areas, increasing the danger.
