Peachtree City, Georgia – Only isolated showers are showing up across Georgia today, but the threat of gusty thunderstorms lingers for parts of far north Georgia through Monday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, radar as of early Monday afternoon shows minimal rain activity across central and southern counties. However, a marginal risk for severe weather remains in effect for far northern areas near the Tennessee border—including Dade, Walker, and Catoosa counties—where isolated storms could develop this evening. The main concern is strong, gusty winds.

Cities such as Dalton, Rome, and even northern suburbs of Atlanta could see passing showers, though measurable rainfall remains unlikely, with chances below 20% through midnight. No watches or warnings are currently in effect for metro Atlanta or southern counties.

Drivers in North Georgia should remain alert for brief wind gusts during evening commutes. Secure outdoor items and be cautious of falling limbs in areas where isolated storms develop.

This is not a widespread storm system, but the NWS will continue monitoring radar trends and issue updates if any stronger cells emerge.
