Cleveland, TN – A Blue Alert has been issued across North Georgia and Southeast Tennessee as authorities intensify a manhunt for a suspect accused of critically injuring a police captain late Friday night.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Timothy Craig Ramsey, 26, is wanted for allegedly shooting Captain Brantley Worley of the McCaysville Police Department on September 12, 2025, around 11:10 p.m. on 1st Street in McCaysville, Georgia. Captain Worley remains in critical condition.

Authorities describe Ramsey as a white male, 5’11”, 185 pounds, with long brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen fleeing the scene wearing a bright green chemical-resistant suit, dark footwear, and possibly carrying a motorcycle helmet.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are urging residents to remain alert. Ramsey is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Officials warn the public not to approach him and to immediately call 911 with any information.

“Please help our friends at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation get this person taken into custody,” Tennessee Highway Patrol posted on social media Saturday, releasing surveillance footage showing the suspect in the green suit.

Multiple agencies, including the GBI, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, and Fannin County Sheriff’s Office, are actively searching both states. The FBI has also been notified.

Law enforcement officials stress that community safety remains the top priority until Ramsey is captured.
