Tallahassee, FL – A broad portion of North Florida remains under a Slight Risk for severe weather heading into Monday, with meteorologists maintaining a 15–29% chance of storms developing across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, confidence in Monday’s severe weather event remains greater than normal for a forecast issued four days in advance. The current outlook, released early Friday morning, highlights a zone spanning from the Florida Panhandle into southern Georgia, where conditions could support hazardous weather.

While precise timing and storm impacts remain uncertain, the NWS emphasized the elevated risk is notable for its early persistence. Monday’s alert level corresponds to Level 2 of 5 on the Storm Prediction Center’s scale, meaning isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, hail, or even tornadoes are possible.

Residents in Leon, Gadsden, and Jackson counties are encouraged to stay weather-aware through the weekend as forecasts are refined. The NWS advises preparing backup plans for outdoor activities and checking for updated alerts starting Sunday evening.
