Tallahassee, FL – A mix of tropical moisture and a cold front will bring heavy rain and much cooler temperatures to North Florida early this week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Residents should prepare for showers starting Tuesday, with rainfall totals reaching 1-3 inches in some areas, particularly along the I-10 corridor.

The NWS advises that the heaviest rain is likely Tuesday night into Wednesday, with localized flooding possible in low-lying areas. Meanwhile, a sharp drop in temperatures will follow, with highs only reaching the low 60s by midweek. The weather service warns drivers along I-10 and I-75 to watch for slick roads and reduced visibility during heavy downpours.

Next week’s forecast signals significant changes after this weekend’s pleasant conditions. Sunday will remain sunny, with a high of 76 and calm winds, while Monday stays partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s. However, rain chances climb by Tuesday afternoon, with a 40% chance of showers increasing to 70% overnight.

Daytime highs on Wednesday will hover near 63, while overnight lows dip into the 40s. Cities like Tallahassee and Panama City should anticipate cooler nights through Thursday, with lows consistently dropping into the mid-40s.
