Grand Forks, ND – Residents of North Dakota can expect a mostly sunny and pleasant start to the weekend, with temperatures near normal. The National Weather Service in Grand Forks predicts that both Sunday and Monday will see clear skies with highs generally around 80 degrees. However, changes are on the horizon as a chance for thunderstorms arrives by Tuesday afternoon and continues into the night.

According to the latest update from the National Weather Service, today (Friday) will see lingering scattered showers and drizzle into the evening, with some peeks of sun possible. Highs are expected to range between 68 to 75 degrees, with a north-northwest wind blowing at 10 to 25 mph. As the evening progresses, there is a slight chance of additional showers, with lows dipping between 53 to 62 degrees.

Saturday is forecasted to bring a gradual decrease in cloud cover, making way for a brighter day with highs ranging from 74 to 79 degrees. The sunshine will dominate the skies on Sunday, with highs expected between 79 and 83 degrees. Winds will be variable, shifting slightly from the south on Monday with speeds between 10 to 15 mph as temperatures continue to rise, reaching up to 84 degrees.

Tuesday brings a shift in the weather pattern, with partly sunny skies giving way to a 20-30% chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms. The storms will bring with them a slight cooling effect, with temperatures hovering between 79 to 83 degrees.

By Wednesday, the region will see a mix of sun and clouds, with temperatures expected to climb back into the low to mid-80s. South winds will persist, ranging between 10 to 20 mph, contributing to a warm and humid environment.
