Grand Forks, ND – A large weather system tracking southeast from Montana into the central Plains will bring light snow to portions of southeast North Dakota and west central Minnesota tonight into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks.
Snow will begin Friday evening and taper off by Saturday afternoon, with total accumulations of up to 3 inches possible near the South Dakota border. Elsewhere across eastern North Dakota, flurries and light coatings are expected, with little impact beyond brief slick spots on untreated roads.
The weather service warns of slick travel and reduced visibility, particularly overnight and during early Saturday travel hours. Roads may become slippery, especially in rural areas and open stretches where snow and wind combine to reduce visibility.
Motorists are encouraged to check updated road conditions through the North Dakota Department of Transportation (511nd.org) before traveling.
