Grand Forks, ND – Residents of eastern North Dakota should prepare for widespread rain beginning Sunday evening and continuing into Monday. Weather reports indicate that scattered light rain will increase in coverage overnight, leading to potentially significant rainfall through Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, areas in eastern North Dakota and far northwest Minnesota are expected to receive up to 0.50 inches of rain. Rainfall will be accompanied by patchy fog, reducing visibility on major routes, including U.S. Route 2. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, as slick roads and limited visibility may lead to hazardous driving conditions.

Monday’s high temperature is forecasted to reach 49°F with overcast skies dominating the day. South winds shifting to northwest in the afternoon could reach gusts up to 25 mph, adding to challenging travel conditions. Rain is expected to diminish by the afternoon, with skies clearing by evening.

Looking ahead, Tuesday promises a break from the precipitation with sunny skies and a high near 48°F. By midweek, temperatures will drop slightly, with Wednesday bringing partly sunny weather and a high of 46°F. The nights will be chilly, with lows falling to 29°F and below through Wednesday night.
