Grand Forks, ND – Widespread rainfall and strong winds are expected across eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service Grand Forks.

Forecasters say most areas have a high chance of receiving at least a half inch of rain over the next 48 hours, with the greatest totals — up to 1 inch or more — likely in the Devils Lake and Langdon areas. The system will move east through the day and tonight, bringing steady rain to much of the Red River Valley.

Rain chances will remain near 100% in northeast North Dakota and 50–70% in west-central Minnesota and southeast North Dakota through Tuesday evening.

In addition to the rainfall, strong south winds will impact the region today, with gusts reaching 35 to 40 mph. These winds could lead to difficult travel for high-profile vehicles and localized blowing leaves or debris.

Showers will taper off from west to east late Tuesday, followed by cooler and calmer weather midweek.
