Grand Forks, ND – A burst of spring snow is snarling travel and prompting advisories across northwest Minnesota and northeast North Dakota through Wednesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, a Winter Weather Advisory remains active until 7 PM CDT today, with 1 to 4 inches of snow expected across the region, including along U.S. Route 2. Commuters should expect slick, snow-covered roads, reduced visibility, and wind gusts up to 28 mph, especially in open areas and rural stretches.

Travelers are urged to slow down, allow extra time, and check local road conditions by dialing 511. Snow is likely into the afternoon, tapering slightly by early evening. Overnight lows will hover in the mid-30s, with patchy blowing snow reducing visibility.

While this spring snow blast will be short-lived, it signals a chilly trend ahead. Thursday turns mostly cloudy, with a low near 26°F. Friday brings another shot of light snow, with a 20% chance early before skies clear and highs hit 41°F. Winds will remain brisk throughout the week.
