Grand Forks, ND – The National Weather Service in Grand Forks is warning that accumulating snow and reduced visibility could create dangerous travel conditions across eastern North Dakota and northwest to west-central Minnesota from Tuesday into Wednesday.

Forecasters say the region has a 60–80% chance of receiving four inches or more of snow, particularly around Fargo, Grand Forks, Bemidji, and Detroit Lakes, with winds causing blowing and drifting snow at times. The greatest risk for travel impacts will occur Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning, coinciding with one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

The NWS warns of an increased risk for slide-offs and accidents, especially on open stretches of Interstate 29 and Highway 2, where visibility may rapidly drop.

While snowfall totals remain uncertain, residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts, allow extra travel time, and prepare for winter driving conditions as Thanksgiving approaches.
