FARGO, N.D. – Residents across eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota will wake to a frosty Monday morning as temperatures fall near the freezing mark, prompting a Frost Advisory from the National Weather Service in Grand Forks through 9 a.m.

According to the NWS, lows around 33°F will allow frost to form in cities including Fargo, Grand Forks, Moorhead, Crookston, and Thief River Falls. The chill may damage or kill unprotected garden plants and late-season crops across the Red River Valley.

Farmers and homeowners are urged to bring sensitive vegetation indoors or cover them with breathable fabric overnight. Drivers should also prepare for light frost on windshields during the early commute, particularly along Interstates 29 and 94.

Skies will clear after sunrise, with daytime temperatures rebounding into the 60s by afternoon. However, another round of near-freezing lows is possible midweek as calm winds and dry air linger.
