Casselton, ND – A driver was injured Saturday evening in a hit-and-run crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 94 westbound, prompting an urgent search for the unidentified vehicle.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:00 p.m. on September 12, 2025, near mile marker 331, about one mile west of Casselton in Cass County. Authorities said the crash involved a passenger car and a semi-truck that allegedly left the scene.

Troopers described the truck as a white cab with a white trailer, equipped with metal fender-style guards rather than plastic ones. Investigators believe the trailer sustained significant damage on its driver’s side, located between the tandems and rear axles.

The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered injuries in the crash, which left the car heavily damaged and disabled along the roadside. Officials have not released further details on the extent of the injuries.

The Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating the truck. Anyone who saw a semi matching this description or has information is urged to contact Sgt. Adam Cashin at acashin@nd.gov or call 701-328-2447 and leave a message.

The investigation remains ongoing.
