New Town, ND – A tragic accident occurred early Tuesday on Highway 23 when a vehicle struck a payloader, resulting in one fatality.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the incident happened at approximately 4:03 a.m. when a 2014 John Deere 744 Payloader, with its front and rear lights activated, pulled to the side of the road to allow a 2017 Honda CR-V to pass.
Despite the maneuver, the Honda CR-V collided with the payloader’s rear corner, ultimately leading to the CR-V driver’s death. The operator of the payloader was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation, with names withheld pending next of kin notification.
