Grand Forks, ND – A rapid shift in North Dakota’s weather is bringing frost warnings after a Red Flag Warning was issued earlier today. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts temperatures dropping as a cold front pushes through the region, leading to potential frost conditions later this week.

According to the NWS Grand Forks office, high temperatures will range from 60°F in Towner County, ND, to 80°F in Wadena County, MN, as of Monday. Cooler temperatures will take hold by Wednesday, with highs only reaching the 50s and 60s throughout most of the week. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s.

The NWS cautions that frost is possible overnight on Wednesday and Thursday, particularly in northwest North Dakota near the Devils Lake Basin. Residents should prepare for colder nights, as morning frost is possible through Friday. Winds will shift from the west, with speeds of up to 25 mph on Tuesday.

The dramatic weather shift signals the arrival of fall across the state. Residents should remain alert to further updates on weather conditions throughout the week.
