Eureka, CA – A persistent marine layer that brought fog and clouds to the North Coast over the weekend is set to break apart, promising a brief period of sunshine early this week. Residents can expect a significant shift in conditions by Monday afternoon, leading to the clearest skies of the week on Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will see patchy morning fog followed by mostly cloudy skies and a high near 58 degrees. The pattern begins to change on Monday with gradual clearing throughout the day as temperatures hold in the high 50s. Motorists on U.S. Route 101 should remain cautious of variable visibility during the morning hours.

The best weather of the week arrives Tuesday. Sunny skies are expected to push the high to a pleasant 62 degrees, offering an ideal opportunity for outdoor activities. This sunny break will be short-lived, however, as clouds quickly return.

By Wednesday, mostly cloudy skies are back in the picture with a high near 60. The pattern holds for Juneteenth on Thursday, which will also see mostly cloudy conditions and a high of around 59 degrees. The work week will close out with cooler temperatures and overcast skies as the marine layer reestablishes its presence along the coast.

No hazardous weather is anticipated, but residents should prepare for the return of cooler, cloudier conditions heading into next weekend.
