Green Bay, Wisconsin – Spring turns volatile in Wisconsin this week, as critical fire weather conditions combine with increasing thunderstorm threats through Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a Red Flag Warning is in effect Tuesday from noon to 9 p.m. for large parts of north-central and northeast Wisconsin. Areas along Highway 8, Highway 41, and Highway 64 face the highest danger as low humidity, gusty winds, and dry fuels heighten fire ignition potential. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and report any smoke to local authorities immediately.

Tuesday’s high will reach 74°F under partly sunny skies, with winds shifting southeast at 10 mph. Fire-sensitive areas include Marathon, Florence, Langlade, Lincoln, Oconto, and Marinette counties. Even areas not under the official warning may experience near-critical conditions.

Looking ahead, Wednesday brings a 20% chance of isolated showers after 1 p.m., with temperatures climbing to 78°F. Thursday marks a sharper turn: Thunderstorms become more likely by late morning, with a 60% chance of rain and strong storm potential through the evening. Friday remains unsettled with continued shower chances and highs near 70°F.

Five-Day Outlook:
