According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the advisory impacts a wide swath of the region, including Marathon, Portage, Outagamie, and Vilas counties. Cities affected include Appleton, Wausau, Stevens Point, and Wisconsin Rapids. The dense fog is expected to lift mid-morning, but until then, travel will be treacherous on roads like Highway 29, I-39, and Highway 51.
Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra stopping distance. Morning commuters should plan for delays and avoid unnecessary travel until visibility improves.
