Fort Worth, TX – Warm, dry, and breezy conditions are raising wildfire concerns across North and Central Texas today, especially west of the I-35 corridor.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, an elevated wildfire threat is in effect for areas including Graham, Cisco, and Killeen. South winds between 10–15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph and low humidity levels (20–30%) will combine to increase the risk of fires spreading rapidly.
Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, secure tow chains, and never discard lit cigarettes or park vehicles over tall grass. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the upper 80s to mid-90s, with the warmest temperatures near Graham at 94°F and around 91°F in the DFW area.
Looking ahead, a pattern change may arrive next weekend. Meteorologists say an upper-level system could bring a weak cold front through the region, offering slightly cooler temperatures and 20–30% rain chances for parts of North and Central Texas. However, the exact timing and rainfall coverage remain uncertain.
Until then, dry and breezy weather will continue through the workweek, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and overnight lows in the 50s and 60s.
