Crawfordsville, IN – Evening snow is set to make roads treacherous across west central and north central Indiana starting Monday at 5 p.m., with travel conditions expected to worsen into early Tuesday. Accumulations between 2 and 4 inches could make driving hazardous across major corridors like I-74, U.S. 231, and rural routes in Clinton, Carroll, and Tippecanoe counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 7 a.m. Tuesday for multiple counties including Fountain, Montgomery, Howard, and Warren. Snowfall is expected to begin during the late commute and continue overnight, potentially covering untreated roads and reducing visibility during key travel hours.

Local officials urge drivers in Lafayette, Kokomo, Frankfort, and surrounding towns to avoid unnecessary travel during the advisory window. Law enforcement across the region warns that slick roads, especially bridges and overpasses, could catch commuters off guard. Plow crews will be out Monday evening, but overnight accumulation may limit effectiveness on secondary routes.

Residents are encouraged to check INDOT’s 511 service for real-time road updates and allow extra time Tuesday morning. Another round of snow isn’t expected this week, but frigid temperatures could keep roads icy into midweek.
