Denver, Colo. – A stretch of unsettled weather is setting up across Colorado, with thunderstorms and periods of heavy rain expected from Monday through Tuesday night, while higher elevations could see the season’s first snowfall.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, scattered storms will develop Sunday afternoon along the Front Range, with activity spreading east onto the plains. The greatest impact comes late Monday into Tuesday when widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely, bringing up to an inch of rain in spots. Snow is possible above timberline in mountain zones, including Summit, Grand, and Jackson counties.

Drivers across Denver, Aurora, and Boulder should expect slower commutes Tuesday as downpours could reduce visibility and create ponding on roads such as I-25 and I-70. Gusty winds up to 25 mph may also accompany storms. In mountain areas, slick conditions are possible on passes like Berthoud and Loveland.

Residents are urged to keep devices charged and avoid outdoor plans during peak storm hours. The wet pattern is expected to ease by Wednesday, with clearing skies and calmer weather returning midweek. Additional advisories could be issued if rainfall increases.
