Little Rock, AR – The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a Freeze Watch for portions of north central Arkansas, as sub-freezing temperatures are expected late Saturday night through Sunday morning, November 2.
The watch includes counties such as Marion, Baxter, Fulton, Sharp, Izard, Stone, Boone, Newton, and Searcy, including communities like Mountain Home, Harrison, Marshall, and Mountain View.
Forecasters warn that temperatures could fall to around 29 degrees, leading to frost and freeze conditions capable of damaging sensitive vegetation and unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Residents are encouraged to cover outdoor plants, disconnect hoses, and wrap exposed pipes before Saturday night’s cold sets in. Farmers and gardeners should take precautions to protect any remaining crops from potential frost damage.
This freeze watch marks the first significant cold snap of the season for many across the Ozark Mountains and surrounding valleys. Temperatures are expected to rebound slightly Sunday afternoon under clear skies.
