North Carolina Weekend Guide: Charlotte Soul Festival, Hornets Nest Auto Fest Sept. 5–6

Charlotte, NC –  Two major festivals will take place in Charlotte the weekend of Sept. 5-6, 2025.

The Soul Fest will be held Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at First Ward Park Uptown.The festival  celebrates soul music and culture, featuring live performances by artists including Curt Keyz and the Iconic Truth Band. 

 Dance groups such as Tamara of Moving Spirits and Roxii of NC Dance District will perform dance styles ranging from samba afro to hip hop starting at noon 

In addition to music and dance, the event will offer local food trucks, artists, vendors and cultural dance workshops. Free health screenings, including mammograms, will also be available along with the chance to connect with financial and community programs. 

The Hornets Nest Auto Fest will run Sept. 4 through Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Admission is $10 per person per day at the gate, with more than 60,000 attendees expected. 

The three-day festival will feature thousands of vendors and attractions for auto enthusiasts, including restoration enthusiasts, DIYers, seasoned collectors and auto professionals. The flea market will showcase auto parts, memorabilia, brand merchandise and more. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the speedway.
