Wilmington, NC – Temperatures across southeastern North Carolina will stay unusually mild overnight as south to southwest winds push warmer air ahead of an approaching cold front, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Forecasters say overnight lows will range from the upper 40s inland to the low 60s along the coast, about 15 to 20 degrees warmer than Tuesday night. The cold front will pass through the area around daybreak Thursday, but it’s expected to remain dry, bringing no measurable rain.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will cool slightly Thursday, with highs settling into the 60s and lower 70s before a gradual warm-up returns heading into the weekend. Winds will shift northwesterly behind the front, ushering in a brief period of cooler, drier air.

No precipitation or storm activity is expected with this system, and the pleasant, dry pattern should persist into early next week.

Residents are advised to take advantage of the mild stretch before more typical November chill returns by mid-month.
