Raleigh, NC – A cold Friday leads into a crisp and sunny weekend, with highs remaining below average for late January. Residents can expect mostly sunny skies with high clouds, but temperatures will struggle to break into the mid-40s today.

According to the National Weather Service, northwest winds will range between 5 and 10 mph, keeping conditions brisk. Lows tonight will drop sharply to 21 degrees, reminding Raleigh residents to bundle up if heading out after sunset.

Saturday will bring sunshine and a slight warm-up, with highs near 45 degrees. Winds will shift to the southwest at around 5 mph by the afternoon. The chill continues overnight, with a low near 27 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Looking ahead, Sunday offers more sunshine and a high of 52 degrees, marking the start of a gradual warming trend. Monday and Tuesday will see temperatures rise into the low 50s and near 60, respectively, under mostly sunny conditions. Morning commutes on Monday should still be chilly, but the sunny afternoons will bring a reprieve.

Residents should prepare for frosty mornings throughout the weekend. Roads may be slick during the early hours, especially along less-traveled routes outside city limits. Make sure to check your vehicle for ice and allow extra time to defrost windows before driving.

Stay tuned for updates as Raleigh inches closer to milder days next week.
