According to the NWS, the region is under a marginal risk for excessive rainfall today, despite ongoing drought conditions. These thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rain, leading to potential flash flooding. The greatest threat will be across southern counties.

A stationary front will remain across the state, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. The entire forecast area is at a marginal risk for severe weather, with damaging wind gusts expected in the afternoon and evening.

Sunday through Tuesday, North Carolina will continue to face a marginal risk for excessive rainfall. The forecast predicts a 75% chance of rain today, with temperatures ranging from 71°F to 84°F. Similar weather patterns are expected over the weekend, with a 70% chance of rain on Saturday and temperatures between 71°F and 85°F.

Rainy conditions will persist into the next week, with a 45% chance of rain from Sunday to Tuesday, and temperatures expected to rise gradually to highs around 88°F.
