According to the National Weather Service, rain is likely before 11 p.m. before skies gradually clear toward daybreak Friday. Southwest winds of 9 to 17 mph could intensify, with gusts as high as 21 mph before shifting northwest overnight. Temperatures will drop to around 45 degrees, but Friday will see sunshine and a high near 61.
By Friday night, clear skies and calmer winds will set the stage for a pleasant weekend. Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high of 66, making it ideal for outdoor plans. Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with lows dipping to 39 degrees. Sunday will be slightly cooler, reaching 49 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
Looking ahead, next week starts with a gradual warm-up. Monday will be mostly sunny with highs near 50, while Tuesday reaches 61. Rain chances return Wednesday, with a high near 69. As February ends, North Carolina residents can look forward to more spring-like temperatures on the horizon.
