The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a alert, indicating that areas from Albemarle to Carthage to Laurinburg to Wadesboro are at the highest risk.
According to the National Weather Service, over 2 inches of rain is likely in these regions, with storms beginning to move in this evening. Residents are urged to stay alert and avoid driving through flooded roadways. “Turn around, don’t drown,” the advisory warns.
The forecast for Raleigh shows consistent rain through the week. Monday’s temperature will reach 84°F with an 85% chance of rain. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to see highs of 88°F, with rain chances at 50% and 55%, respectively. Thursday and Friday continue the trend with temperatures in the low 80s and rain probabilities at 60%. The weekend will see a slight reprieve, but showers remain possible with temperatures around 85°F on Saturday.
