Raleigh, NC – A warm and windy day is expected across North Carolina, with temperatures reaching the mid-70s in some areas. A storm system will bring scattered rain showers and strong wind gusts throughout the afternoon and evening.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Raleigh, showers will begin near the Triad by lunchtime before moving eastward into the Triangle and Sandhills. A few isolated storms could develop, mainly east of I-95 during the early evening hours.

Wind speeds will increase through the morning, with gusts reaching 20-30 mph. Some areas may experience gusts over 30 mph, leading to minor travel disruptions and difficulty for high-profile vehicles.

Despite the rain chances, most of the day will remain dry. The NWS advises residents to secure loose outdoor objects due to strong winds. Those traveling eastward later in the day should remain aware of possible quick-moving storms.

Temperatures will remain above normal for this time of year, with mild conditions continuing into the weekend. Residents should prepare for a mix of spring-like warmth and occasional showers in the coming days.
