RALEIGH, N.C. — The air feels crisp and sharp across the Triangle early this morning, lawns silvered with frost under clear skies and calm air. Temperatures have dipped to near 35°F, triggering a Frost Advisory through 8 a.m. for much of central and eastern North Carolina, including Raleigh, Durham, and Fayetteville.

Residents are urged to cover or bring in sensitive plants before sunrise, as the coldest pockets could touch freezing briefly. The chill marks another early sign of the winter transition season, with La Niña-driven fluctuations expected to shape early November weather across the state.

After the frosty start, clouds will steadily increase by late morning. Temperatures rebound into the mid-60s, but another change is already on the way. Rain moves in late tonight, with patchy fog possible after 9 p.m. The best rain chance (80%) arrives between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., bringing a quarter to half inch of rainfall across Wake, Johnston, and Chatham counties.

Monday begins gray and damp, but skies gradually clear through the afternoon as cooler, drier air returns. Highs hold in the low 60s with a north wind near 8 mph. From Tuesday through Thursday, expect bright sunshine, calm breezes, and steady fall warmth—ideal for outdoor work or early holiday prep.

By late week, long-range models hint at another cool push, but no freeze-level temperatures are expected just yet. For now, Raleigh’s early November weather stays mild, with frosty mornings giving way to crisp, comfortable afternoons across the Triangle.
