Wilmington, NC – A cold front is sweeping through Southeast North Carolina and Northeast South Carolina today, bringing breezy conditions, scattered showers, and cooler temperatures by nightfall.
According to the National Weather Service Wilmington, temperatures will reach the 70s inland and 60s along the coast before clouds increase and showers develop. Some areas, particularly in North Carolina, may experience isolated storms as the front moves from west to east through the evening.
By tonight, skies will begin to clear as colder air settles in. Low temperatures are expected to drop into the 40s across much of the region, with some inland areas like Pee Dee seeing temperatures dip into the 30s. Winds will also shift, making conditions feel even chillier.
Residents should prepare for changing weather by dressing in layers and securing any loose outdoor objects due to gusty winds. Those traveling this evening should be cautious of wet roads and reduced visibility during passing showers.
The cooler, drier conditions will continue into tomorrow, marking a noticeable shift from today’s warm and breezy start to spring.
