North Carolina Tornado: EF1 Twister Confirmed in Pender County with 95 MPH Winds

Currie, NC – The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down in Pender County, North Carolina, on Sunday evening, producing winds up to 95 mph. The storm struck around 7:25 p.m. local time, about four miles east of Currie.

According to NWS Wilmington, the tornado had a path length of 3.15 miles and a maximum width of 200 yards. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were reported. Most of the damage consisted of snapped trees.
