CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With October quickly coming to an end, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. This year marks the 79th anniversary of the annual Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade, taking place Nov. 26.
Since 1947, the parade has been a beloved holiday tradition in Charlotte. In 2013, Novant Health became the official sponsor, continuing the event’s long-running scholarship program. Today, the parade draws thousands of visitors to Uptown Charlotte and reaches more than one million homes through its broadcast.
The 2024 parade featured more than half a dozen high school bands, local dance and cheer groups, community marching bands and five headline performers. The event dazzled spectators with lights, music and holiday spirit.
Performers for the 2025 parade will be announced later this month on the parade’s official website.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot along the curb before the parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Parking is available at several nearby garages, and three Lynx Light Rail stops are located along the parade route.
The event will be broadcast live on WCCB from 6 to 8 p.m. on parade night.
The one-mile parade travels down South Tryon Street, starting at Ninth Street and ending at Good Samaritan Way. The parade is expected to run from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
