Charlotte residents can expect a mix of sunshine and increasing temperatures this week, but dry conditions pose a wildfire threat. The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement warning of increased fire danger due to low humidity and dry vegetation.

According to the NWS, Sunday will be sunny with a high near 49°F, while Monday sees a jump to 55°F with light winds. Temperatures continue to rise Tuesday, peaking at 65°F, but clouds move in late, bringing a 60% chance of rain overnight into Wednesday. Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week at 71°F, with widespread showers expected before clearing out Wednesday night.

Fire Risk & Outdoor Burning Ban

Despite the milder weather, fire risk remains elevated due to dry air and recent lack of rainfall. The South Carolina Forestry Commission has issued a burn ban, and officials strongly discourage outdoor burning in both North and South Carolina.

Extended Forecast

• Monday Night â€“ Clear, low around 33°F.

• Tuesday â€“ Partly sunny, high near 65°F.

• Tuesday Night â€“ Rain develops, 60% chance.

• Wednesday â€“ Showers likely, high of 71°F.

• Thursday â€“ Cooler, mostly sunny, high of 55°F.

Charlotte residents should take advantage of the warm, dry start to the week but prepare for midweek rain and remain cautious about fire risks.
