Charlotte, NC – Wind gusts, falling temperatures, and clear skies are expected to shape the week ahead across Mecklenburg County as North Carolina enters a spring weather alert period. Tuesday brings a noticeable change from Monday’s unseasonable high of 85°F, with cooler air and stronger winds settling in.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s high will peak at 73°F under partly sunny skies. Winds from the west-northwest will blow steadily at 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph during the afternoon and evening. Tuesday night temperatures are forecast to drop sharply to 45°F with continued wind gusts reaching 23 mph. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and avoid unnecessary travel on elevated roads like I-77 where gusty conditions may impact driving safety.

Sunshine will dominate much of the day, followed by a mostly clear night with a low near 44°F. This spring cooldown trend continues into Thursday with a high of 72°F and overnight lows near 50°F.

By Friday, partly cloudy skies return, and temperatures rise to a more seasonable 80°F. Saturday follows with sunny skies and a projected high near 86°F, signaling a warm-up just in time for the weekend.
