North Carolina Panthers: 12 Rookies Named to Roster as 2025 Season Kicks Off Sept. 7

Charlotte, N.C.- Football season is approaching fast, and the Carolina Panthers are preparing with 12 rookies, including wide-receiver Tetairoa McMillan, the team’s first-round pick at No. 8 overall. 

McMillan, a former University of Arizona standout, averaged  21.5 yards per reception and totaled 43 receiving yards during the preseason. 

Dalevon Campbell, a former South Carolina University wide receiver, recorded eight receptions for 147 yards, averaging 18.4 yards per catch in the 2025 preseason. 

Running back Trevor Etienne, a University of Georgia graduate, finished the preseason with 12 rushing attempts for 47 yards, two receptions and an average of 10.5 yards per catch. 

Tight end Mitchell Evans, a Notre Dame graduate, is set to start in 2025. He closed the preseason with one reception for five yards.

Kicker Ryan Fitzgerald, from Florida State, went 3-for-3 on field goals, averaging 4.8 yards per catch. 

Wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr, a Graduate from Colorado University, had six receptions for 29 yards, averaging 4.8 yards per catch.

Defensive tackle Cam Jackson, another Florida State graduate, ended the preseason with two tackles – one solo and one assisted.

Linebacker Bam Martin-Scott, a South Carolina graduate, recorded 12 tackles, including seven solo and five assisted.

Safety Lathan Ransom, a former Ohio State player, tallied 11 total tackles, with 10 solo and one assisted. He also had one interception for 16 yards and a defended pass.

Outside linebacker Nic Scourton, from Texas A&M, logged two solo tackles and one sack.

Center Back, Corey Thornton, a graduate of Central Florida, posted seven solo tackles and one defended pass.

Lastly, outside linebacker Princely Umanmielen, from the University of Mississippi, finished with seven total tackles – four solo and three assisted.

The Panthers open the 2025 season on Sept. 7 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium. The game will be broadcast on Fox and available to stream on Fox Sports, Hulu+ Live TV or NFL+.
