North Carolina – Trick-or-treaters in eastern North Carolina can look forward to a pleasant Halloween evening, with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s and clear skies expected across the region. After a foggy morning start, the weather is anticipated to clear up, offering an ideal setting for Halloween festivities.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City, the day will begin with mist and limited visibility, especially around Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station, where temperatures started in the upper 50s. Fog should dissipate by late morning, giving way to partly sunny skies and a light southwest breeze. By 5 p.m., temperatures are expected to reach around 78°F in areas like Greenville and Kenansville, with slightly cooler spots near coastal regions such as Frisco and Rodanthe, where temperatures may hover around 70°F.

For those heading out in the evening, conditions will remain favorable. Sunset is expected around 6:14 p.m., with calm, partly cloudy skies and temperatures gradually dipping into the low 70s by nightfall. Parents are advised to accompany younger trick-or-treaters and exercise caution on local roads due to reduced post-fog visibility. This year’s Halloween forecast aligns perfectly for outdoor fun, allowing families to safely enjoy trick-or-treating and other festivities.

Looking ahead to Friday and the weekend, temperatures are forecast to stay mild, with highs near 80°F on Friday and slightly cooler air moving in by Sunday. Residents can expect mostly sunny skies through the weekend, with only a few clouds rolling in at night.
