Raleigh, NC – Veterans Day brings warmer weather for Raleigh, with temperatures climbing to a high of 73°F, offering relief for outdoor ceremonies and events. However, residents should prepare for a significant shift as temperatures are expected to drop, leading to patchy frost late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, early morning rain chances are present, with Sampson and Wayne counties seeing the highest likelihood of showers. These showers should taper off by the afternoon, giving way to mostly sunny skies. Monday night will remain clear, with temperatures dipping to around 51°F, setting the stage for cooler weather on Tuesday.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 66°F. As evening falls, temperatures will sharply drop, reaching a low near 38°F. The combination of clear skies and cooling conditions will create ideal circumstances for frost development. Residents, especially those in frost-prone areas, are urged to protect sensitive plants and prepare for the cold.

The midweek forecast continues to cool, with Wednesday’s high only reaching 57°F. Night temperatures will plummet to around 42°F, keeping the frost risk in play. The weather will remain partly cloudy, with rain not expected until Thursday, when a 40% chance of showers returns and a high near 56°F is forecasted.

Stay alert for potential frost advisories as conditions evolve, and take the necessary precautions to safeguard plants and outdoor belongings.
